The year is coming to an end and I am finishing my new album in the snowless december gloom in Stockholm town.
It feels amazing that these 12 songs are now finally on tape and has found the soundscape and form they need.
It took me some time, since this project turned out to be quite ambitious.
After a quite long journey of writing and recording I went back to simplicity and ended up with an album that I am extremely proud of and eager to share with you all.
To give you some hints I would say it is dark, huge, physical and romantic. Hedonistic church music, if such a thing exist.
Drums and voices, voices and drums.
It will be called MUSCLE.
It will be released in Scandinavia in the spring and Europe in the fall.
It is a part of a two-album project, with a follow up album within a year.
Now you know what I know. The rest is to be figured out in 2012.
Have a wonderful christmas.
Love, Rebekka

The recent incidents in Norway has left me in a whirlwind of grief and thoughts about where our society is heading. My little hometown Oslo has been so badly hurt and hit. The papers are filled with pictures of the victims. Young, clear eyes smiling to the camera, embracing life and believing in their own power to shape and improve the society they were living in. They were brave pioneers with a huge social awareness. In these beautiful souls honor, let´s agree to never be silent, to never close our hearts, to never shut off or turn our heads away for injustice, but to raise our voice for a healthy, educated, including, humanistic society full of diversity and love.

The winter gloom already seems far away in Stockholm, everything is blooming, people are meeting each others eyes again. I just celebrated the last release of The Noble Art of letting Go- in Benelux, and want to thank all of you who have come to my shows around in Europe! Now I am going into summer hibernation to write my next album. A newly tuned piano just arrived to a very magical place outside Stockholm, where I plan to let the world spin without me for a few months and see what comes out… In the mean while, Little Gang is releasing the first single “Evert´s song” and Cirkus Cirkör´s “Wear it Like a Crown” is performing around the planet. We will come back and play in several places in Europe in the fall, check in for update on places and dates! My next album will be released late fall, I think. Maybe early spring 2012. We´ll see… I´ll let you know. Thanks for waiting. It is a lovely feeling to have someone waiting and expecting. Everyone needs that. See you on the other side. Have the most beautiful summer now. Swim naked and stay awake all night. With warmth, Rebekka

Dearest friends.
The new year has been kickstarted in a creative whirlwind. Not only are we in the middle of the European release, but I´ve also been busy all January recording with a new musical project called LITTLE GANG, with Jacob Snavely, Erik Nilsson, Carl Von Arbin and me.
We´re mixing our debut album these days and I´m pretty excited about this eclectic, noisy and poetic project. The album will most like be called “Half of everything” and consist of 11 brand new songs mostly written by Jacob Snavely and I. It´s really fun to be a part of a band again (something I haven´t done since I was a teenager..!) The title comes from my little brother Ruben (check out the pic) who dressed up as “half of everything” when he was 5 years old. Kids are brilliant sometimes…
Besides from that I´m writing new songs for my next album and the lovely Ane Brun (whom I´m sharing a working space with) is also in the middle of the making of an amazing new album. So the creative energy is literally bouncing around through the walls of our cozy recording dungeon in the south of Stockholm city! It is such a privilege as an artist to be able to go in between the solitude of song writing and then travel out and perform. I love the dynamics of that. Longing for the meeting with the audience, sharing what has been circling in my head, feeling the transformation of the songs being played live. So I hope to meet you all out there soon. Take care, Love Rebekka

“Karijord has one of the most hauntingly beautiful voices ever heard on record… She is one painstakingly talented individual. Raw talent which shines through. ” 4/5 The Daily Echo
“The Noble Art of Letting Go possesses a powerful kind of nakedness and honesty which on occasion makes it a mildly uncomfortable listen in the best possible way” The Line of Best Fit
“Disarmingly lucid, simple and stunning… Arguably the finest heartbreak song you’ll hear this year.” 4/5 The Comet and Royston Crow
